Dear Sir or Madam,

May I draw to your attention an as yet unresolved error on my account. The original problem was spurious "balance transfer" interest charges levied on the account from the statement of 06 November 2003. I raised the issue at the time (by phone) and was informed that there was indeed an error which would be rectified, but that I should pay the amount requested in full to avoid complicating the matter. The overpayment would be refunded automatically.

The spurious charges disappeared over three months but the overpayments, totalling £3.57 have not been repaid.

I phoned again on Sunday (6th March) and was advised that the matter is still noted on my account but was outwith the period which could be dealt with over the phone. Hence the letter you see before you. I enclose copies of the relevant statements, plus the preceding one.

I hope the matter can now be speedily resolved.

Yours faithfully

John Reynolds
