John was asked by one of his Geneology friends the following question:-
Was there a reason for Josh as your name back then???
John Replied as follows:-
Yes. It was a nickname I acquired in first year at secondary school -
Art teacher looking over my shoulder :-
"Have you any connection with Sir Joshua Reynolds?"
Me :-
"Eh?"
Art teacher :-
"I thought not."
The name stuck through school and university. When I went to work in London, I decided to revert to John but there was an old school-friend working on the floor above and I soon discovered that everyone on his floor thought my name was Josh. It was easier to stick with that as there were two other Johns in my office.
Now that I am no longer in a work environment, and am in contact with a much reduced number of old friends, I have reverted to John.
Orrabest,
John
